Transit-friendly weekend Halloween jaunts that’ll haunt!


Costume parties, haunted houses, jack-o’-lanterns – you get the gist! Halloween is next week, and you are probably out hunting for that spooktacular costume.

If you’re wondering what Halloween-related events to go to this weekend, you came to the right place. The Buzzer blog is pumped to bring you this list of action-packed events, haunted houses, and all other spooky things in between!

Eat, drink, and be scary!

Burnaby’s Haunted Village

Location: Burnaby Village Museum, 6501 Deer Lake Ave, Burnaby Transit: Buses 123, 133, 144

Discover the unexpected! The Burnaby Village Museum encourages you to wear costumes. Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, live entertainment, and free carousel rides. Enjoy some ghoulish snacks at the ice cream parlour.


Fright Nights at the PNE

Location: 2901 East Hastings Street Transit: Buses 14, 16, 95 B-Line

Playland’s annual Halloween celebrations feature eight haunted houses and over a dozen rides. Considered Western Canada’s scariest haunt, this event promises to terrify guests with their nightly shows. Not recommended for children 12 and under, and those over 65.

Potter’s House of Horrors

Location: 12530, 72nd Avenue Surrey Transit: Buses 301, 319

If you’re into all things eerie, this is your dream come true! This ultra-spooky haunted house with many shocking surprises awaits you. They also have mini haunted houses for children 12 and under.

The Secrets of Stanley Park Walking Tour

Location: Stanley Park Transit: Buses: 19. You can also take the 240, 246, and 250 that stop nearby.

These tours involve stories about Deadman’s Island, cemeteries, and crime scenes. Listen to stories of why the park was opened, and what really went down on Deadman’s Island. See famous crime scenes, secret cemeteries, and much more!


Grave Tales at Fort Langley

Location: 23433 Mavis Avenue, Fort Langley Transit: Bus 562

This two- or three-hour program consists of “spine-chilling stories” as you walk through the Fort Langley village at night. This is for 19+ only, and you can also make it a night out by booking an overnight tour.


Stanley Park Ghost Train

Location: Pipeline Road, Stanley Park Transit: Buses: 19. You can also take the 240, 246, and 250 that stop nearby.

Join Jack O’ Lantern on his journey through the dark forest. The Stanley Park Ghost Train takes its riders on this trip through a magical world where they can experience all the legends and creatures surrounding Halloween.

Drive-in Halloween Movies

Location: Surrey; River District, Vancouver; and White Rock

Transit: Buses, SkyTrain

Watch drive-in movies at three locations. Choose from Beetlejuice, The Silence of the Lambs, Hocus Pocus, Halloween, Casper, The Shining, and more! Check event details for prices, and timings. Load up your car with friends and family, and enjoy getting spooked under the stars!

Halloween Fireworks

Location: Minoru Park, 7191 Granville Avenue, Richmond Transit: Canada Line, Buses 410, 430

The City of Richmond is hosting a number of events for Halloween this year. The fireworks festival is a free event that includes music, children’s activities, fire juggling, and of course, a spooktacular fireworks finale! Take the Canada Line along its scenic route, snap some photos for Instagram, share using #MyTransLink!


Coquitlam Halloween House

Location: 443 Draycott Street, Coquitlam Transit: Buses 152, 156

This family-friendly haunted house includes lots of attractions that are suitable for all ages, as well as laser shows, ghouls, and all things eerie. Get your spook on! Last year they raised over $9000 for charity.

The Haunt of Edgemont

Location: 3414 Emerald Drive, North Vancouver Transit: Buses 240, 246, 247

This North Shore haunted house will open its creaky doors and unleash their ghouls on you. Admission is free, but you can also donate to the BC Professional Firefighters Burn Fund. Expect wolf-like monsters and spider-infested greenhouse. Fangtastic, we say!
